I would like to share something extra special and wonderful with you today. I continue to study Neuro Linguistic Programming since I have found that it is the most elegant way to create change in the conscious mind. I also love to use other energy based techniques but using my ability to visualize continues to be a long time friend. Here is a very special exercise that I recently learned from my NLP Coach, Kevin Creedon. Many of my clients love doing this exercise since it gives them the ability to step outside of their own experience and to see things differently for a change.

I woke up this morning tired and grouchy, very unusual for me, not wanting to go the gym and meet my new trainer, Nicki. I knew that I had to get more serious about increasing my level of activity and that this was the perfect time to do that. I had even called ahead and asked Nicki to do a quick measurement before we started to train together this morning.
As I sat in her office, she pulled out a hand held machine from her desk, asks me what I weigh and my height. I felt pangs of guilt and the old critical voice popped up in judgment when I said, "I'm 167 and 5'3". I know that I have been going up and down 5 pounds since I crossed the finish line at the Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk 5 years ago. That was when I decided that I was ready to take a vacation from continuing my weight loss. And so I did.

During the winter break, my husband, Angel, our two kids, 9 1/2 year old Cara and 14 1/2 year old PT and I drove my step daughter, Janelle and my little step grandson, Aiden back home to North Carolina. We also invited Cara's cousin, Angelica to join us for the trip. We arrived on the 27th and on the 30th we left to go back to New York.
It was great seeing Janelle and Aiden again but it was a really stressful trip. I'm just not used to dealing with the needs of a baby anymore. I notice that I just don't have the patience that I used to have when PT and Cara were kids. I'm not very resourceful anymore when it comes to children whining and asserting their independence. I guess I just act old sometimes. It's also tough because I rarely see Aiden and consequently don't feel very connected to him. I need to take steps to remedy that. Perhaps it is another great opportunity to do some tapping.

A couple of weeks ago, my son, Paul, who we call PT approached me with the news that there was an important aspect of homework that he had neglected to do over the Winter Break. It was a presentation, of all things. I was sitting in my office around 8:00 last night and he came to me and showed me a xeroxed copy of about 30 speeches on the subject of freedom. He said that he was not even sure what to do about the homework since he was not certain of what the directions were.
I looked at the pages and saw that he was supposed to take one of the speeches and memorize two paragraphs from one of them. I told him that and he started to panic. In fact, he started to freak out. On several occasions in the past, I had asked him if he would allow me to tap on him and he always refused thinking that it was too "weird." I figured that I'd try and ask him again and lo and behold he said "Yes, Mom you can tap on me." I'm so scared you can do anything to help me.

I've been putting this goal off for 5 long years. I've gotten thinner by reducing my weight by 50 pounds and I've maintained that within a 7 pound range for the past 5 years. Here is my story. I hope that some of my insights can help to lead you closer to the sweet spots in your own journey.
Now as a speaker and coach and a woman whose mission it is to empower other women, I'm ready to stop all the nonsense, take control of my own body and get to the weight where I feel comfortable. I want to control my body instead of the other way around. I'm not sure if my ideal weight is 152 or if it is lower. I wear a size 8 now and I would like to be a size 6 again. I am also a Certified Energy Coach, Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguisitic Programming and Ericksonian Hypnosis and a Professional Speaker but more than anything I am a woman who has struggled with her weight issues since early childhood due to a childhood history of sexual abuse and lack of self esteem. I'm here to share my story with you and willing to be vulnerable so that you can get some benefit from the bumps and boulders along my path. I pray that my journey will make yours easier. Please learn from my mistakes.

It is with the greatest of pleasure that I would like to invite you to join me in a celebration of women.
On Saturday, March 25, I will be holding a gathering for women to unite
in New York City. It is in honor of International Women's Day. I would
be deeply honored if you would join me and a host of other wonderful
women on Saturday March 25, and participate in this event. This is an
opportunity for women to band together, share their stories, resources
and dreams to have more choice and to create more light in the world.
I would be tickled pink if you would forward this message to any other
woman who would benefit from the power of a greater and more expanded
female community.

Back in October of 2004, I participated in an event in Dallas called
Gather The Women. It was earthshattering! The Gather the Woman Global
Matrix was a gathering of 250 women from around the globe, from New
York to Bombay to Down Under.
Over 60 nations of women were represented. You can find out more
information about this extraordinary organization by going to
http://www.gatherthewomen.org.
The purpose of the 8 day conference was to martial the resources of the
women from around the world in order to bring about peace on a global
level.

Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. In preparation
for a seminar that I am presenting next week in Rockland County in the
town of Nanuet, I called up the location to check the number of
registrants. Imagine my surprise when I was told that there was no
indication of anything listed on the roster for this coming week and
that I must be mistaken.
Keeping my cool, I called my contact person for the presentation. I
found out that I was posted for 3 seminars and instead of all of them
being on the same topic, they were each on different topics. I
realized that it is useless to panic and so decided to make the best of
a bad sitation and let it go.
