Leverage All Your Assets For Maximum Weight Loss
Have you ever had a great resource that you realize has gone largely untapped?
This was the question that rolled around in my head as I sat at the Help Counter of Apple Computer's Mac Genius Bar.
A couple of years ago, my dad was concerned that my PC computer had become vulnerable to viruses. He gifted me with a Powerbook G4, a model which including all the bells and whistles du jour. Not being very comfortable with learning new technology, I just used the machine for basics and ignored most of its great benefits. It became a very expensive paperweight. I guess you could say that I was reluctant to step out of my comfort zone.
Well my PC has been attacked by a virus again. It's not working and that made me realize that I need to do something different. Now it's time to step out of my comfort zone and embrace my Mac.
What can I say I've been resistant.
Have you ever resisted trying new things... even if what you were doing wasn't working?
How about with diets?
Have you spent decades struggling with diets only to realize that they didn't work?
Diets are based on external motivators, tons of deprivation and guilt. Ultimately you are taught to ignore your body's impulses and to do whatever you can to avoid getting too hungry.
Naturally thin people are able to tune into their bodies and eat what they love and never need to diet. This is a natural gift that we all have. They eat when they are hungry and stop when they are full.
Most kids start out being skinny and picky. Then the parents step in and try to control them by plying them with food and that leads to a life of push me pull you resistance and anger around food and our bodies. But there's that skinny picky kid inside of all of us. Every baby starts out able to push away the bottle or the breast when its little tummy is satisfied.
If you are ready to leverage the wisdom of your inner skinny, picky kid, then I'd like to invite you to come and play in the sandbox and learn how you can easily lose weight wihout dieting by taking an inside out approach and ditching the old diet mentality.
Please leave a comment and share with me some of your thoughts and beliefs around dieting. Has it worked for you? Have you permanently lost the weight or are you still struggling with yet another diet? Please share your stories with me.

I agree with your comments about diets being based on deprivation and guilt and I know these twin terrors seem to bring out the worst in me. I don't remember being a skinny, picky kid but I do like the idea of re-learning to eat what I love and stop when I am finished. My eating is very visually based, if I can see it, I think I want to keep eating it. Look forward to discussing more.
Cheers, Sharon
